Another eventful day at Foxfield Primary school, we had more dance workshops going on today as well as different classes creating their masterpieces using recycled objects.
In Year 1, we were drawing jellyfish on recycled card. Our designs were made using both chalk pastels and oil pastels. The jellyfish population has increased everywhere in the world because their natural predators are in decline due to the environment. Turtles eat jellyfish but they are mistaking plastic bags for jellyfish. These plastic bags get stuck in the turtles digestive system which causes problems and the turtle then dies.
In Year 4 we have been making upside down leaf pots. We want people to be aware of deforestation and what this does to the homes of animals and insects. We used some fallen leaves to help us create the pots. Louise said she really enjoying using clay to make the leaves and she added that she was surprised at how easy it was to make the leaf.
